Allison Darling is a Fellow Member
of The British Association of Teachers
of Dancing. Allison began her dance
career at the age of 4. She studied
ballet for three years before branching
out into Jazz, Tap and Highland. Her
love of dance flourished over the
years and she began to study other
dance disciplines such as, Musical
Theatre, Lyrical, Modern, and Hip
Hop. She danced competitively across
Ontario and is her 22nd year of teaching.
Certification
Allison holds many Teachers certificates
with the British Association Teachers
of Dancing. She acquired her Fellowship
in Highland in 1990 and is an adjudicator
for The Scottish Official Board of
Highland Dancing. In June 2006 was
granted a Life Membership with he
BATD.
She has prepared many students for
Exams with the BATD both at the amateur
and professional level. Many of her
students have been nominated for Scholarships
with the BATD in the Ballet and Stage
Divisions. Students have also gone
on to teach with Parks & Recreation,
YMCA, and open their own studios.
Krista
- Instructor
Profile
Krista started dancing at the
studio in 1988 at the age of
5. She has studied Jazz, Tap,
Ballet, Acro, Highland, Musical
Theatre, Lyrical, Hip Hop, and
Acro. Krista has successfully
completed BATD exams in many
of these dance disciplines and
is an Associate in the Acro
Branch. She danced competitively
from 1994 until 2001 and was
on the team that won the 1998
I Love Dance Championship in
New York City.
Krista continues to study at
the studio as well as teach
classes in Jazz, Tap, Ballet,
Musical Theatre and Hip Hop.
She also taught a mentally challenged
class for three years with great
success. She is in her tenth
year of teaching at the studio.
Robin
- Instructor
Profile
Robin is a Member of The BATD in the
Highland Division and also the Scottish
National Division. She started dancing
at the age of 3 and has studied Tap,
Ballet, Jazz and Highland. Her real
love is Highland.
She competed all over Ontario during
her dancing career. This is her sixth
year at the studio. She has been teaching
for 5 years and continues to study
Highland and Tap.
Sonia
- Instructor
Profile
Sonia began dancing at the age
of 3, and has been trained in
ballet, jazz, lyrical, pointe,
hip hop, tap and musical theatre
throughout her dancing career.
She has been a competitive dancer
for 12 years as a group member
and soloist. Sonia is currently
working towards her Associate
level of Ballet with the BATD,
and has won numerous awards
and overall marks at competitions.
Sonia has been a member of
the competitive dance teams
at St. Mary C.S.S. since 2005,
and has been a performer and
Dance Captain in several shows
the school has produced. She
has choreographed for these
productions and has won artistic
awards within her school community.
She also performed in the
Opening Ceremonies of the
“Winter Festival of
Lights” in November
2006 in Niagra Falls. She
is beginning her first year
at York University in the
Dance Program.
In addition to dancing, Sonia
holds CPR-C and High Five
certification, and works at
summer camps with The City
of Pickering as a Special
Needs Camp Counselor.
Stephanie
- Instructor
Profile
Stephanie has been studying
ballet for 24 years. She is
trained in both RAD and Russian
methods. She has successfully
completed her ballet exams up
to the Elementary level. Stephanie
was a very successful competitive
dancer in groups, duets and
solos across Ontario.
While studying abroad, Stephanie
danced with a ballet studio
in France in 2001. She has
expanded her dance horizons
by studying Highland and Tap.
She is currently studying
for her Associate Ballet with
the BATD.
